A JOB WELL DONE
This month I would like to say congratulations to Keith, a five-star client who has accomplished a tremendous feat. A year ago Keith came to me wanting to lose 100 pounds in a year. At 49 years old he was determined to not only trim down but to eat healthily. Well, it has been almost a year and I am happy to say he has met his goal.
NO CRAVINGS!
Keith says he doesn’t miss any of the old foods which are unhealthy and he has created an entirely different way of eating. He is now sharing his wonderful recipes with me! This man used to wear baggy shirts when he came in each week to see me and now he wears fitted shirts and fitted jeans. 6’2” and eyes of blue he is a handsome guy and a happy one. He worked hard and I praise him for his diligence and stamina during this past year.
FOOD AIDS FOR WEIGHT LOSS
I’m sure our weight loss probiotic has helped him on his journey, but he has also discovered there are many good foods out there to help with weight loss. Chia seeds are one of them.
Chia seeds are full of important nutrients. They are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants, and they provide fiber, iron, and calcium. Omega-3 fatty acids help raise your HDL cholesterol, the good cholesterol that protects against heart attack and stroke. In addition, they are full of fiber and when used in a chia pudding they expand, so when you eat them, they give you the feeling of being full. Perfect for those watching their weight!
Our new cookbook “It’s Not Just a Cookbook”, co-authored by Dr. David Martín and me, Vickie Gelardi, has a great recipe for chia pudding. You can pick it up at the clinic soon. We will formally announce our cookbook on Facebook and send a special notification to everyone when it arrives And, yes, we’ll probably throw a party!
