Unfortunately the answer is yes. People who are socially isolated are at a greater risk of health issues, including chronic conditions along with mood disorders. A new study done in Great Briton followed 6500 people for 8 years and found that the most socially-isolated people in the group were 26% more likely to die.
This finding comes as no surprise to most of us. We intuitively know that just having someone there to call for help when you need it can make a big difference. Also having someone else notice the things that you might not notice, such as a funny-looking mole, can save your life.At Lotus Blossom Clinic we recommend that you participate in life, connect with people and enjoy friends and family. This is all part of the balance that keeps us healthy, and Chinese Medicine is all about balance. Getting your Qi moving and balancing your Yin and Yang. So put yourself “out there”, connect with people doing things you enjoy doing. You will be glad you did.
